Little town situated at an altitude of 370 m. The forest of Cedrogne remembers that the inhabitants of the town had the right of user in this forest. This martyred town was destroyed at 99% on the 6 January 1945. 310 houses (on a total of 354) were totally destroyed. There were 200 victims on a population of 1.450 inhabitants. The town was rebuilt after the war. Houffalize has become the City of Children recently (Houtopia).
